The Town of Smithers is currently seeking four interested individuals to serve on the Smithers Public Library Board. The Library Board is made up of volunteers from the community who make policy and financial decisions regarding the Library.

The Town of Smithers is developing a Parks and Recreation Master Plan that will guide service delivery and inform decision making over the next 10 years. Inputs received from the community will form the foundation of the new plan.

Notice is hereby given that an electronic/telephone Public Hearing affecting “Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Zoning Bylaw No. 1800, 2020” (the Zoning Bylaw) will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 7:00 pm.

Stage Two (2) water restrictions are currently in effect for those residents connected to the Town of Smithers water system.

Description: As part of the public consultation process, TELUS is inviting the public to comment on a proposed telecommunications facility consisting of a 30m self support tower with a 3m lightning rod, and a fenced equipment compound in order to provide dependable wireless data and voice communication services to Kispiox.

The Town of Smithers is seeking the services of a qualified Grant Writer to assist the municipality and local non-profits with grant writing support in 2023/2024.
