An osprey was caught red-handed dive-bombing two geese in a nest in Penticton Friday.
A local resident, Sydney Wood, managed to catch the confrontation on her phone and post it to Facebook, showing an osprey interfering with a pair of geese and its eggs in a nest on Warren Avenue near the highway bypass.
The osprey managed to knock one goose out of the nest, and Wood said she thinks the eggs may have been destroyed.
Several people commented saying the nest has been there for decades.
“[It’s] been for there for as long as I can remember,” Wood said on the post. “Never seen goose in it though!”
