The Smithers CIHL team will not be participating for a second year in a row with a lack of players.

Town of Smithers and Smithers Minor Hockey will feel the loss of the Steelheads.

A desperate plea for players didn’t garner enough interest.

CIHL prepares to shrink next season

If the Smithers Steelheads are on the bench next year, only five hockey teams are left in the CIHL.
