Smithers hosts annual tourney

Smithers Junior Softball Society hosted the annual Invitational tournament two weekends ago at Elks Youth Park, for teams from the Squirt, Peewee and Bantam-Midget divisions. All house league teams competed, with a Terrace team in each division as well.

Smithers Junior Softball Society hosted the annual Invitational tournament two weekends ago at Elks Youth Park, for teams from the Squirt, Peewee and Bantam-Midget divisions. All  house league teams competed, with a Terrace team in each division as well.

Following round robin play on Saturday, the Squirt standings were Terrace in first, Glacier Roofing in second, Smithers in third, BV Wholesale in fourth and Moricetown in fifth. After playdowns on Sunday, Glacier Roofing finished first overall, defeating Terrace in the finals.

Peewee standings after Saturday’s action were Smokescreen Graphics in first, Terrace in second, Mulder Concrete in third and Moricetown in fourth. Playdowns and finals happened Sunday, with Mulder Concrete defeating Moricetown in the Consolation final, and Smokescreen Graphics defeating Terrace to win.

In Bantam-Midget action, Saturday left Remax in first in the A Division and Total Floors in first in the B Division, Billabong second in A and Terrace second in B, and Moricetown third in A, and Pharmasave third in B. Playdowns and finals again took place on Sunday. Pharmasave beat Moricetown in the Relegation final, Billabong beat Total Floors for the Consolation final, and Terrace beat Remax in the final, leaving Remax in second overall.
