On Wednesday, Feb. 21, Bulkley Valley Nordic Centre hosted the XC Skiing Rocks Elementary School Event.
Six schools in the District, including Houston, Witset and Telkwa, attended bringing over 120 students to participate This three-hour event included the Mad Dash Sprint to get a Cookie Medal, team relays and a Funny Adventure Ski to explore more ski trails.
The students also enjoyed the snacks and hot chocolate tent, dance parties, face paint and wearing their team colours. The event ended with each school doing the ski drag race relay. We even had snowshoers participate!
It was a great success and could not have been done without the many club volunteers, teachers, parents, and of course the students! Thank-you all for coming out to enjoy the beautiful cross-country ski facility in the Bulkley Valley.
