Hazelton athlete, Regan Yee is continuing to race to new heights in track and field this year and is currently ranked amongst the fastest long distance runners in the province.

As a member of the Bulkley Valley Athletics club in Smithers, she recently travelled to the Annual Spruce Capital Track and Field meet in Prince George where she won two events and finished second in a third.

Yee won the 1500 meter in a time of 4:45.78 and is currently ranked fifth in the province and she took the gold in the 300 meter with a time of 10:34.52. However although she is ranked fourth overall in the province in the 200 meter steeplechase she had shoelace problems. Facing competition that included the silver medalist at the 2010 Canadian National Championships, she still finished only a few seconds behind in second after having to stop and restart after tying her shoe.

Yee also recently captured several golds and a silver at the High School Provincial meet and has no plans to slow down anytime.
