Smithers Junior Softball has partnered with the Town of Smithers Recreation Department to offer a four week clinic for pitchers and catchers, run by certified Smithers Junior Softball coaches. Last year’s clinic was considered highly beneficial getting players ready for the start of the baseball season in May.
The sessions will run on Tuesday evenings from April 5 to 26 at the Bulkley Valley Christian School gym. Mites (born 2001 and 2002) and Squirts (born 1999 and 2000) run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., while Peewees (born 1997 and 1998), Bantams (born 1995 and 1996) and Midgets (born 1992 to 1994) take over from 7:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The cost is $20. Players need to sign up by April 1 to ensure there’s enough interest, and enough equipment for classes.
