All you could hear was a minor drizzle of rain on leaves on the Huckin Eh downhill trail.
That was until the adrenaline-fueled shouts echoed among the trees as downhill cyclists took advantage of Norco Performance Bikes and Mcbike & Sport’s annual Huckin Eh downhill race.
In the Open Mens division, Matt Kilback took the top spot in first with a time of 4:12.8. Dave Percy followed in second place with a time of 4:16.5. In third was Oren MacDougall with 4:24.9.
In the Women’s 19-35 division, Gabe Newman took first with 4:41.5. Nicole LeBlanc took second place with 5:06.1, and Stacey Blake followed for third with 5:17.5.
The sole competitor in the Boys under 12 division was Heiko Krause with a time of 7:16.3.
For the Under-16 group, Josh Holland came in first with a final time of 4:47.1. In second was Dylan Marek with 5:01, while Eric Jonkman took third with a time of 5:14.5
For the 16-18’s, Jeremy Hargovesik earned first with a time of 4:41.4. Josh Matthew was close behind with 4:44.9 for second and Scott Mitchenson had 4:58.4 for third.
In the 19-35 category, Kurt Wolf came out on top with 4:36.9. In second was Logan Malkow at 4:37.8. In third was Jordon Hammond with a final time of 4:45.4.
Scott Marko placed first in the 36-49 category with a time of 4:40.7.
Peter Krause was close behind for second with a time of 4:48.3.
Dave Marek was the only one in the 50+ division, and finished with a time of 5:20.4.
