BV Otters on a roll

The Bulkley Valley Otters swim team is continuing their success.

Maddy Lundberg took first place in the 200m butterfly, while also setting a personal best time of 2:43.71 at the AA Provincials, in Chilliwack from Feb. 11 to 13.  She also finished second in the 100m backstroke.

Brian Dohler and Brett Zollen travelled to Kamloops from Feb. 17 to 20 for the Western Canadian Championships. Zollen set personal best times and club records in all three of his races. He finished tenth in the 50m freestyle and the 100m breaststroke. Dohler also set personal best times and club records in his races, including the 100m and 200m backstroke. His best race was 14th in the 200m backstroke.

Both Zollen and Dohler qualified for next year’s Western Championships in the 17 and over category.This weekend, the Otters will be at the AAA Provincials in Victoria.

Seven swimmers, the highest number of any club in the region, qualified for the competition. Zollen, Dohler and twins Tanner and Bailey Espersen are all ranked in the top ten of their categories.
