“A girl named Katie.” This was the statement made in last week’s write up on the Relay for Life. Please let me tell you a little more about this girl.
This girl named Katie, is a 14-year-old grade nine student from South Hazelton. Katie Mckee has just completed her seventh year participating in the Smithers relay. She collects her pledges, challenges and commits herself to the relay and whatever team she is on.
Each year starting in April she starts her fundraising. Along with the help of her mom, some amazing bingo organizations and many family and friends over the past five years has raised over $12,700. WOW! I say! Being a biased and loving aunt I felt the need to share with your readers a little more about this girl named Katie.
