Williams Doolittle

August 20, 2007

William (Bill) K. Doolittle

Died August 20, 2007, with family at his side.

Bill is fondly remembered by his wife Margaret and his children Trish and Marc; he is predeceased by his son Paul. Bill’s memory is also in the hearts of his sister Fay, his brother Lyle, his grandchildren Teresa Taggart, Erin Farrow, Jeremy Farrow, and Jeremy’s children Melissa, Aidan, and Noah, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Bill was born December 18, 1929 in Estavan. Bill moved to Prince George in the mid-50’s, where he worked for 35 years at CN Rail. It was in Prince George that Bill met and married his wife Margaret and where they raised their family. In 1992, Bill and Margaret moved to Smithers to enjoy their retirement.

Bill enjoyed keeping busy with a variety of activities. He spent many summers with his family at the cabin he built for them at Bobtail Lake, and he enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. Bill also enjoyed curling, golfing, and softball, as well as various card games; he was an especially mean crib and bridge player, and he traveled and played in numerous tournaments.

Bill went to live at the Bulkley Lodge in March of 2006, where he was well cared for by their kind staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bulkley Lodge.

A gathering of remembrance took place for family and friends in Smithers on Friday August 24.
