March 11, 1941 - February 22, 2025
In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Green announce his passing on February 22, 2025 at the age of "almost 84" He was born to Lillian & William Green on March 11, 1941 in Trail, BC.
Bill leaves behind his wife Marilyn Visser, his son Doug Green and wife Cina, son Steve Green, stepdaughter Angela Visser, daughter in law Angelique Visser, and his brother Roly Green & family. Bill has 5 grandchildren, Jeremy, Alana, Richard, Amanda & David. He also has 5 great grandchildren. He has many cousins and family in many areas of BC.
Bill worked at BC Tel/Telus for over 40 years. Bill graduated from Mission Senior Secondary. A true BC boy he grew up in Trail, Kitimat, Richmond & Mission, but spent most of his life in Smithers. He loved the North all his life. When he lived in Richmond and started with BC Tel...they asked Bill, "do you still want to go to Smithers", he said my suitcases have been packed for 4 years. He worked as a linesman for many years and then in janitorial until his retirement.
Bill loved music, although he never played an instrument. He had over 1000 albums and CD's, of which he listened, multiple times. He especially enjoyed Old Time country and The Blues. He went with his wife Marilyn to many Music Festivals over the years.
Bill had a good sense of humor and he and Marilyn enjoyed time with his brother Roly and wife Sandy. They exchanged jokes, funny cartoons and he was the master of the funny sayings. Marilyn stated that Bill's procrastination was "all the blood in his body turned to lead in his ass". That statement has availed many good laughs over the years.
Bill loved camping and fishing on weekends, taking out his boats on the many lakes in the area around Smithers and Burns Lake. He taught his boys to fish, trolling the lakes. He spent many hours that way, and also spent time with Grandkids doing the same, creating great memories.
Bill had an affinity for pocket knives. He had a talent for carving, making knives that were exact duplicates. He also carved animals and slingshots. No service as per Bill's wishes.
