William Beverly ‘Bev’ Brinkhurst

Bev was born in Cut Knife Sask July 9, 1941 youngest of six children born to Sid and Donalda Brinkhurst.

Sadly missed by his wife Pearl, sons Brian (Maria) Sean and May of Burns Lake, BC, Darin (Angela) of Coquitlam, BC. Brothers Robert (Dee) of Calgary AB, Herb of Gallivan, Sask. Sister Margaret (Fred) Hayter of Chelan Washington. Sister-in-law Doreen of Gallivan, Sask. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his father, mother, brother Raymond, sister Doris and brother-in-law Bill Rodgers.

Bev enjoyed being out on his snowmobile and spent many years working on trails through the bush up behind the Gilbert farm with Ron Gilbert and Hans Tugnum. When the boys were young the families enjoyed Sunday picnics, snowshoeing and skiing which continued with the grandchildren. Bev always seemed to be in need of wood, for heating the house in winter and the pool in summer. He was very happy when our neighbour Ed Walton did some logging and he could then use his snowmobile or ATV to get wood.

His greatest joy after retirement was his grandchildren Sean and May. He looked forward to their visits, spending many happy hours in the pool during the summer and enjoying the snow in winter. His only regret was that he wouldn’t get to enjoy and spoil Darin and Angie’s baby that is due any day.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Nov.29th at the Glenwood Hall in Smithers. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glenwood hall would be appreciated. These can be made at the Bulkley Valley Credit Union, Box 3729, Smithers, BC V0J 2N0.
