WILFRED HAROLD WALKER
December 27, 1944 – July 3, 2009
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, Papa and friend to Mary on July 3, 2009.
Wilf was born in Kelowna, BC, one of two children to Harold and Marion Walker. Wilf will be terribly missed and is survived by his wife and friend Sharon, their children Nikki (Robert) Walker-Reid, Patricia (Brian) Walker-Aird and Connie (Dennis) Craig, grandchildren Kyla and Kendra Walker, Jordan, Brooklyn and Hailey Craig. Wilf is also survived by his sister Ruth (Gerry) Angel, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Wilf spent 40 years self employed as a logging truck owner/operator, 30 years of it in Hazelton, BC.
His family was by his side when he passed away at home after a long struggle with cancer. The one thing he taught his family was how incredibly strong, amazing and determined he was in his life until the very end.
There will be a Memorial Service for Wilf on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Mountainview United Church in Hazelton, BC with Reverend Minnie Hornidge officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to the Smithers Palliative Care Unit or the Cancer Center would be appreciated and can be sent to c/o PO Box 370, Smithers, BC,V0J 2N0.
