In Loving Memory of

Victor Herman Desjarlais

August 22, 1914 - July 28, 2007

“Vic” was born in Mullen, South Dakota, on August 22, 1914. He and his 4 siblings were raised in Providence, Rhode Island. At age 15, Vic’s family moved to Alberta.

In 1914 Vic married Vivadel Ganley, who would be his wife for nearly 60 years until her passing in 2001. During that time, there were many moves for work and many friends made along the way.

Vic and Vi spent over 30 years on Burnt Cabin Road in the Bulkley Valley where they raised 2 children, Karl and Bertha.

Vic was an avid outdoorsman and worked as aw faller, trapper and prospector. He loved horses, sled dogs, kids, crepes, dancing, lemon meringue pie, reading cowboy stories and a good stew.

He looked forward to his phone calls from Mabel every evening and his weekly visits with Bob Bresser. We are more than grateful for the care he received from the home support workers these past years.

Vic lived on his own and was almost 93 when he passed away.
