Vi was born in Kamsack, Sask., on October 4, 1925, to parents John and Mable Hicks. As her health deteriorated, she grew weary and passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2006.
Smithers has been home to Vi since 1970. She spent many happy hours camping and fishing in the surrounding area with husband George and as many of the “kids” as she could commandeer. She loved her home and garden and was happiest when surrounded by her family.
Vi will be sadly missed but always remain in our hearts.
She is survived by her husband George, who gave her his love and support; her children Sharon Anderson, Cress (Marilyn) Farrow, Cheryl (Bruce) MacMillan, Calvin Farrow; stepsons Clifford Ford, Paul Ford, Doug (Sue) Ford and Terry Ford; sister Ruby Gibson; and her much-loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
