It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Verna Zavaduk. Verna passed away peacefully at Bulkley Valley District Hospital with family by her side.
Verna was born in Smoky Lake, Alberta to parents Penteley and Elana Koshman. She grew up in Vilna, Alberta. In 1953 she married the love of her life, Vic, and together they raised two sons.
After moving to Smithers in 1965 Verna went to work at the Royal Bank and later at Perry & Co. She was an avid golfer and curler. She had many hobbies, but she was most proud of her hand painted Easter eggs.
Verna is survived by her two sons, Greg (Glynn), Rod (Karen); grandchildren Gordon (Amanda), Steven (Kelly), Heather (Michael) Wall, Mathew (Kelsey), Joshua, Jenna (Reid) Alsager; 10 great grandchildren and her sister Kathy. She was predeceased by her husband Vic and great grandson Layton.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at the Bulkley Valley District Hospital for their loving care. At Verna's request there will be no formal service. Donations appreciated in Verna's name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
