May 12, 1941 - November 10, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Shirley Hill (Clarke). Shirley passed away peacefully November 10, 2018 in Kitimat, BC. Born and raised in Qualicum Beach, Shirley graduated high school in Nanaimo then attended UBC before becoming a laboratory technologist. She worked in both Trail and Montreal prior to moving to Kitimat in 1964.

Shirley embraced her love of the outdoors leading her family and friends on many energetic hikes and boating adventures. She was an avid gardener, voracious reader, loved cross country skiing and had a passion for good food. After a 35 plus year career at Kitimat General Hospital, Shirley became even more involved in her community as a part of the museum board, art club, meals on wheels and yearly garden tour.

Loved and respected by all that knew her, Shirley will be greatly missed by her children; Angie (Jerry) Bizarro of Smithers; son Steven (Shelley) Hill of Kitimat; granddaughters Zoe, Phoebe, Taya and Olivia; sister Betty (David) Alexander; sister in law Linda (Arnie) Badke and numerous friends. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Roy in 2009.

Our family is immensely grateful for the compassionate care given to Shirley over the last few years by all of the staff and volunteers at Mountain View Lodge and also by the staff of Kitimat General Hospital in her final days.

A gathering in memory of Shirley's life will be held at the Kitimat Rod and Gun on Saturday December 29, at 2 pm. All are welcome.
