On Wednesday, May 10, 2006 Sherman passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his wife Sandy of 40 years, children Christy (Mike) Kerr, Eva Jaycox (Kevin Radawetz), Lisa Jaycox, Milton Jaycox (Meagan Strong). His mother Inez Hammond, his sister Jessie (Bob) Adams, brother William. Grandchildren Ainsley, Zachary, Samuel, Mara, Aaron. Greatly missed by other family and friends.
Sherman was born in Glasgow, Montana, growing up on the prairies. Leaving Montana in his twenties he moved to Northern BC and the Yukon as a heavy equipment operator . He started a family in 1968 and settled in Smithers for 25 years, recently relocating to Brentwood Bay, on Vancouver Island.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 20, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services 4725 Falaise Drive Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers donations to the BC Cancer Society.
