In 1947, he married Anna Osinchuk and they settled in Woss Lake in the Nimpkish Valley where he worked for Canfor. They had one son, Sam Jr.
Sam’s hobbies included music, photography, reading and his hunting dogs.
In 1988, Sam and Anna retired to Merville, B.C. where they enjoyed their retirement. In 2008, they moved to Smithers, B.C. to be with their son’s family.
Sam will be remembered for his handsome smile, overwhelming generousity and quick wit.
He will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Anna, son Sam Jr. (Mary Yelich), grandchildren Kyler Hardy (Tara Holmes), Logan and Jess Hardy, many cousins, aunties and uncles and numerous dear friends.
