Sally Ann Sandberg

April 13, 2007

Sally Ann Sandberg was born Sept. 24, 1938, in Prince Rupert. Sally passed away on April 13, 2007, after a very courageous seven year battle with cancer.

Sally married and had two children in Prince George. The family then moved to McBride, Kitimat and then Smithers for the last 27 years. Sally worked as an office manager for the bulk plant for 35 years.

Her greatest passions in life were family, friends and organizing events. She loved to ski, curl, golf and camp, which she continued to do for the past 7 years of her illness. She taught us all to be strong, enjoy life and put a smile on your face no matter how you’re feeling.

Sally is survived by husband Carl, son Trevor (Rita), daughter Carla (Rick), brother Rob (Carol) and grandchildren Brett, Trevor, Adam and Liam.

We would like to express our gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the Bulkley Valley Hospital, with a special thanks to Lynn Shervill, Dr. Bastian, Dr. Strauss and Loretta Mehr.

A memorial was held April 18 at the golf course, and we would like to thank the “Birthday Girls” for all their hard work. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Smithers Community Cancer Society Cure Team. Donations can be made at the B.V. Credit Union in Sally Sandberg’s name.
