Rose Katherine (Nosko) Mattson

April 29, 1924 to March 26, 2009

Rose passed away peacefully at Wrinch Memorial Hospital. She was born in Battleground Washington in 1924 to Paul and Mary Nosko. She lived and worked in Battleground, Washington. After World War Two she married William (Bill) Mattson. They lived, farmed and raised four children in the Amboy area.

In 1970, they moved to the 100 Mile House area with the three boys. They farmed and enjoyed numerous hunting and fishing activities. In 1977, grandchildren began arriving; they followed the grandchildren to the Hazelton area. They built a house and developed gardens and enjoyed outdoor activities with their family. Bill passed away in 1997; Rose continued living in her home, gardening, cooking, enjoying the grand and great grandchildren, her dogs and the Suskwa neighborhood. She will be sadly missed by friends in Battleground, 100 Mile House, Smithers and Hazelton areas.

She is survived by her brother, George (Pete) Nosko: daughter Diane Mattson (Tom Doulis); sons Bill, Jack (Kelly Mattson), and Mark; grandchildren Emily (Trevor), Amy, Laura (Piet), Marie, Mark, Ryan and Scott; great grandchildren Brody, Chase and James.

Special thanks to all of Rose’s friends and to the doctors and staff at the Wrinch Memorial Hospital. A special thanks to Ann for her loving care and support.
