Robert George Morris, of Smithers, BC passed away peacefully on Saturday June 29th, 2013 at the age of 66 years, in the Bulkley Valley District Hospital. Bob was born in Smithers to Pat and Mel Morris and lived most of his life in the beautiful Bulkley Valley.
Bob’s greatest loves were family and fishing. He was a very social person who greatly enjoyed visiting with friends, laughing and dancing. Survived by his son Rob Morris; daughters Leona Pollard and Sherri Morris; stepdaughter Leecole Johnston; sisters Shirley Hewitt and Donna Zimmerman; brothers Doug Morris and Jack Morris; former partner Louanne Chapman, and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Justin Flynn and the nursing staff at the BV District Hospital for their loving care and support.
A Memorial Service for Bob will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Smithers United Church, located on the corner of 8th and Queen Street. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society and can be sent to PO Box 3776, Smithers, BC V0J 2N0.
