1959-2021 ~ It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Richard White on August 6th at the age of 61. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, his son Troy (Kyla), his daughters Natalie, Jessica (Joe), and Nicole. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Drayden, Charlotte, Grace, Cheysen, and Emery.
There are no words to express the love that Rick's family had for him. To them he was their whole world. His family was blessed to learn many valuable lessons from him, the lessons of hard work, sacrifice, integrity, generosity, and honesty.
Rick grew up and spent many years living in Smithers. After 27 years working for CN Rail, he left to pursue other ventures. Rick had big dreams, and he successfully turned his dreams into reality. He did this not through luck or a good fortune but through the strength of his will and his ingenuity.
He was a successful entrepreneur, investor, farmer, builder, designer and craftsman. He continued to learn and grow every day.
We are so proud of everything he accomplished, but more importantly he was a dedicated family man. He loved to tell stories and joke around with his loved ones. There was no shortage of laughter in his life. Even in the worst scenarios he could find humor. He was always singing to himself. Any child that knew him became completely enamored with him—pets too.
We don't know how we could possibly fill the void this loss has left in our hearts. We are forever grateful to have had Rick in our lives.
A Funeral Service was held in the Schrader Funeral Home for immediate family on August 17th with a gathering afterward at the family farm.
