Reverend Father John Edmund Dunn

We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on January 24, 2006, of the Reverend Father John Edmund Dunn, at the age of 81 years.

Father Dunn was a veteran, serving during the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was ordained in Smithers in 1955. Besides serving in Vernon, before his retirement in Vernon, he served as pastor in Lillooet, Ashcroft, Princeton, St. John Vianney in Kamloops, Lumby and 100 Mile House.

Father Dunn was predeceased by a brother, Denis. He is survived by brother Michael (Marg) of Kamloops, sister Margaret (Jim) Goodacre of Smithers, and sister-in-law Muriel Dunn, and many extended family members.

Vigil Prayers were at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church in Coldstream Jan. 29, and a Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 30. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 31 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Kamloops, with the Most Reverend Bishop David Monroe, celebrant.

Interment in Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops.
