June 10, 1929 - April 25, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Reg Cooper announce his passing on April 25 at the age of 89. Reg is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Patricia and their oldest son Paul. He is survived by his children David (Brenda), Anita (Harry), Susan (Don) and Paul’s wife Bren; his 6 grandchildren Kathryn (Phil), Melissa (Sid), Sally (Steve), Dan (Leah), Mark (Tori) and Sam (Katie); his 11 great-grandchildren Brandon, Louise,Terry, Grace, Lola-Bella, Angus, Mason, Ty, Callie, Brooklyn and Jaxon; and his great-great-granddaughter Ruby. Reg emigrated to Canada from England in May of 1953 with his wife Pat and their ten-month old son Paul. They landed in eastern Canada and Reg went to work on a dairy farm for a while before taking a job driving for the City of Toronto. In 1970 they moved the family of now 4 children to British Columbia taking a leap of faith that Reg would find work and they would find a new home to raise their family. Reg took on more driving jobs ending his working life with 20 years driving Vancouver City buses.
Reg only lived in Smithers for 3 years but loved the Bulkley Valley and visited his daughter Susan and her husband Don often before making the move after the passing of Patricia.
Dad we miss you tremendously, but we are happy you are reunited with Mum.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
