In Loving Memory ~
We are sad to announce our father Rayner passed away peacefully at home on April 18th after a short battle with cancer. We were blessed to have him spend his last few weeks at home surrounded by friends and family enjoying coffee and offering his last tidbits of advice.
He was predeceased by his parents Pieter and Auktje Oosterhoff. He leaves behind his former spouse Trish, his children: Karl (Erin), Adrian (Kelsey) and Sharene (Conrad) and grandchildren: Jacklyn, Alex, Reagan and Hallie.
Rayner was born in the beautiful Bulkley Valley on April 5th, 1960, and raised on the family farm at Round Lake. Farming ran through his veins, and nothing could keep him out of the barn for long. As soon as the opportunity arose, he and his wife started their own dairy farm and raised their own family right next door.
When he wasn't in the barn he was enjoying his own private paradise on Round Lake, where he would spend his quiet time enjoying the sunsets to the call of the loons.
His greatest joys in life were helping his children build their own "paradises" on Round Lake and spending time with his grandchildren.
His love for travelling and discovery led him on many adventures abroad while his strong commitment to community at home had him involved in many non-profit organizations. For his family and neighbors he could always be depended on for help at midnight or advice at coffee time.
He was a beloved father, husband and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors, especially our nurse Kelsey from the Prince George Cancer Clinic. At this time no date has been confirmed for a Memorial Service, but one will be announced soon.
