GIDDINGS, Raymond Lewis passed away suddenly July 4, 2008, in Granisle, B.C. at the age of 82 years.

A long-time resident of Telkwa, Ray had moved to Granisle some years ago. He was born March 27, 1926, in Telkwa, to his parents Alfred and Katie.

In 1950 he married Marie Charette and here they raised their family. Throughout his life he worked as a carpenter, horse logger, forestry employee, CN tie inspector and conductor, retiring after 30 years of service.

“A life well lived”

Ray is survived by his daughters Kelda (Doug) Hawkins and Melodie (Tom) Jones, grandchildren Denise (Rick) Deanna, David (Shawna), Jessica, Austin, Shaylene and Baily.

He also leaves to mourn, his sister June Ridennoure (Cocks), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Ray was predeceased by wife Marie in 1985, and his second wife Pat (Sullivan/Olson) in 2002. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Wilbur (Bub), Alfred, Andrew, Earl and Ken, sisters Lavenna and Mabel.

“Sadly missed, never forgotten”

A funeral service for Ray Giddings was held Monday, July 14, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Smithers United Church with Rev. Karen Millard officiating.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gizeh Shriners Patient Transportation Fund, 3550 Wayburne Drive, Burnaby, B .C., V5G 3K9.

Interment was in the Telkwa Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the R.A. Schrader Funeral Home, Smithers, B.C.
