Peter Ronald White passed away in Smithers, B.C. on Sunday, August 21, 2011.
Peter was born on December 26, 1932 in Banff, Alberta, to Mildred and Clifford White. Peter is survived by his wife Lois of 58 years; daughter Sandra Smit (Hans); grandchildren, Blaine and Peter Smit; brother Don Whyte (Shirley). He was predeceased by his daughter Catherine.
Peter led a full life. After retiring from the Teamsters Union, he and Lois moved to Smithers to be near their grandchildren. Peter made his skiing “come-back” on Hudson Bay Mountain. He continued to pursue his love of horseback riding in the valley and on trips when he returned to ride in the Rockies.
He loved his family, welcomed his friends and was always eager to try new adventures. He was happiest with a good yarn about mountains and horses in the company of good people with a glass of red wine.
