Oscar Pederson

June 8, 1926 to February 3, 2016

Oscar Pederson, aged 89, passed away peacefully at Bulkley Lodge on February 3, 2016. He was born in Bromhead, SK, the youngest of eight children. Oscar farmed near Bromhead and in the fall of 1947 came to Smithers to work. It was in Smithers that he met and married the love of his life, Elin Peterson. For the next 30 years, they returned to Smithers in the winter for Oscar to work in trucking and logging and in the spring returned to Saskatchewan to farm. When the farm was sold they returned to Smithers and worked for the Babine pulp mill as a sawyer until his retirement.

Predeceased by his parents Hans and Severine Pederson, his wife Elin, and siblings Gladys, Elmer, Harry, Viola, Menford, Willard and Palmer. Oscar is survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bulkley Lodge and Dr. Preto for their care and kindness.
