Obed Abel Helps

On Jan. 2, 2010 Obie Helps suddenly passed away at the age of 85. He leaves to mourn his death, his loving wife Colleen, three sons, Steven (Kristy), Dave (Donna), Dan (Kelly) and one daughter, Holly, Leslie Flint, six grandchildren, Cassidy, Brittany, Whitney, William, Catherine, Grant, and many relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Abel and Dorothy Helps, and sister Jean Cummings. Obie has been a resident of the Smithers/Telkwa area since 1954. Obie was a giant of a man who left large footprints in the hearts of many. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial was held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at the Telkwa Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Obie’s family would like to sincerely thank all those who sent condolences, cards, food and gave support during this difficult time. It was greatly appreciated.
