November 18, 1946-February 29th, 2020
Peter left this world for the next last February. Yesterday would have been his 74th birthday.
Reflecting on his life with love are brothers Leigh (Gail) and Donald (Miriam), sister Elizabeth, nephew Alex (Ashley) and niece Kathleen. He was predeceased by his beloved parents George and Hilda and brother-in-law Rod Gourlay.
Peter was a larger than life presence whose passion was music whether playing, singing, listening or writing. He was Kathleen's and Alex's goofy uncle who took on the persona of Cabin Fever Charlie during Telkwa's Cabin Fever days and Lonesome P Dawson when playing at local coffee houses. He had been active in the BC and Alberta hospitality industry for many years, as a steward on the MV Princess of Vancouver ex. CPR ship and managing large-scale restaurants in Calgary, Banff, Jasper and the lower mainland. His stories of restaurant life are legendary. He enjoyed the camaraderie of gatherings with friends and family and volunteered his time with several Telkwa community projects over the years.
We love and miss you big brother. Many thanks to neighbours Jeremie and John who have kept the home fires burning while we are in transition. Special gratitude and appreciation to Telkwa friends Stan and Barb for their loving friendship over many years.
