On Wednesday, May 12, Joan Wells passed away at the age of 84.
A voracious reader, one could always find Mom at her beloved Smithers Public Library. Joan was a "card-carrying" member of the NDP - she was passionate about her politics and was happy to debate with anyone.
Mom loved Smithers so much; she enjoyed her strolls down Main Street, happy to say hello to all. A good shopping expedition at New To You was always worth a phone call to someone to brag about.
Mom always said she was so lucky to be in the same town as her girls, grandkids and great grandkids. They were lucky to know her.
A special thank you to all the physicians and staff at the Coho Clinic; everyone showed so much kindness to our Mom. It was much appreciated.
The BV District Hospital was so compassionate and caring for our Mom. It was truly appreciated during a tough time for our family.
If circumstances allow, we will have a Celebration of Life on what would have been her 85th birthday.

"Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."
- Khalil Gibran
