1933 – 2013
Mr. Cameron Lavon Brown of New Hazelton, B.C. passed away peacefully at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre with his loving wife and children by his side on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the age of 79 years.
Cameron was born on July 6, 1933 in Virden, New Mexico to parents Floyd and Elmina Brown, where he was raised and graduated high school; he then continued his education, attending Eastern Arizona Jr. College, graduating from Oregon State University. In August of 1971, Cameron relocated his family to New Hazelton, B.C. from Corvallis, Oregon, spending the next 41 years living in “His” mountain home, as he always called it. He had a deep love and great passion for the Lord, the truth, the mountains, creeks and rivers.
He will be forever missed; forever loved and forever remembered by his beloved wife Donna, sons Cameron A. (Margie) of Rexburg, Idaho, Shannon (Wendy) of Paul, Idaho, Roland (Sandy) of Sandy, Utah, Randall (Kimberly) of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, Floyd of Red Deer, Alberta and Mitch (Melissa) of Shoshone, Idaho; daughters Roxsanna (Daniel) Ryan of Plains, Montana and Pamela (Jim) Slaughter of Orem, Utah, as well as by 39 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn Cameron’s loss are his brothers Dewaine (Judy) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Steve of Bountiful, Utah; sisters Ferneth Courtright of Anaheim, California and Rita Nielsen of Eagle Mountain, Utah. Cameron was predeceased by his parents Floyd and Mina Brown, son Kendall, brother Dewitt, sisters Illean and Colleen and five grandchildren.
Funeral service and interment will be held in Safford, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Wrinch Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 2510 Hwy. 62, Hazelton, B.C., V0J 1Y0.
