In loving memory ~
At His appointed time, the Lord called home our beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Molly was born in Roodeschool, the Netherlands, the oldest child of Pieter and Martje Dykstra, and was followed by Jane, Carl, Jack and Harry before emigrating to Canada in 1957.
In the following years, Tina, Henry, Liz, Wilfred, and Marianne joined their family. After her schooling years mom did some work helping families in need and then she worked in the hospital before meeting and marrying Peter in 1968 (and they were married for almost 54 years!). Mom was an active daily support to her children and grandchildren. She spoiled us all with her beautiful quilts, sweaters, socks, felted wool slippers, and much more, which continue to warm us now. She was always available with a listening ear, helping hand, cup of coffee, and meatball soup. This slowed down upon Mom's cancer diagnosis but she still did her best to stay involved.
She was a testament of grace to us and exemplified a servant heart up until her very last days. She entered her Lord's rest peacefully at home on Friday, September 30, 2022. Mom is greatly missed by her family: mother Martje Dykstra, husband Peter, and kids: Karen & Les de Leeuw, Richard & Teresa Plug, Kevin & Jelliena Plug, Wendy & Garrett Berends, Anna-Marie & Nick Barendregt, Christopher , Christina & Norm Dejong, and Mike & Jenn Plug, 44 grandchildren, 17 great grand children (and counting) as well as a large extended family. The family would like to acknowledge the support received from many church and community friends. Thank you also to the medical team, in particular Dr's Quinn and Haskins, as well as nurses Breann and Chelsea for the compassion and care they showed to mom and all of us who cared for her in her final days.
