In Loving Memory ~

Mike died from Oral and Throat Cancer. He is survived by: In Suriname, his son, Jamie, his stepchildren, Bejornie and Bejonce and their mother, Erica Helderberg.

In Smithers, his mother Tara (Marc) Granlin, in Squamish, his father, Tim Travis, in Nelson, his brother Jeremy (Andrea) Travis, in Smithers his stepbrother Paul (Tennille) Granlin,in Bend Ore., his stepsister Ingrid (Hunter) Granlin, in Prince George, his uncle, Shaun (Lacey) Chabot, in Calgary, his uncle, Pete (Theresa) Hoare, in Vancouver, his aunt, Anne Lyons, in Montreal, his cousins Melissa and Harvey.

Mike was predeceased by his grandmother, Jean ( George) Wetheral, grandfather, Alphonse Chabot, grandparents Grace and Bill Hoare.

In Smithers, Mike also leaves behind his life long friend, James Benjamin and extended family.

Mike was born in Jasper, Alta, but spent his school age years in Smithers. He was an energetic adventurer who loved travelling and being with friends. He always had an idea for his next adventure.

Finding wonderful food to eat and was a real pleasure for him, especially when he could cook something delicious for the people he loved.

Mike worked as a driller all over Canada, in Suriname, S.A., and in Sudan, Africa

Mike has lived in Suriname for the past ten years. He was a member of the motorcycle club, Iron Order MC. Mike will be joining his motorcycle brothers for one last ride, January 27, for his funeral in Paramaribo, Suriname.

Our thanks goes out to all of our friends and family who have helped Mike battle the Cancer over the past six months.

We will all love and miss you forever.
