November 15, 1954 - November 27, 2018
With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of Michael James Shannon at home in Smithers, BC.
Mike was born to parents Jack (Shannon) and Loretta (Laird) on November 15, 1954 in Toronto, Ontario. He grew up as the eldest of five boys and attended Danforth Technical Institute. Mike enjoyed a long career as an over the road truck driver.
Survived by his wife Heather, daughter Kelly Stephens (Karim), brothers John (Bonnie), Joe (Heather) and family, Dave (Cheryl) and family, and sister Linda (Sam) and family. Preceded in death by parents Jack and Loretta, brother Terry and Kelly's mother Kathie Stephens.
Mike and Heather moved from Ontario to the Bulkley Valley in 2016. Mike was ever pleasant and smiling, appreciative of the incredible beauty that surrounds the valley.
A celebration of life will occur in Ontario in 2019.
