In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary peacefully left this world on November 5, 2023, in the Bulkley Lodge.
Born on September 17,1941 in Bakhuizen Netherlands, Mary brought immense joy and warmth into the lives of everyone she encountered. She was the epitome of a selfless and compassionate person, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her beautiful smile and infectious laughter could light up a room, and her gentle, kind-hearted nature touched the hearts of many.
Mary immigrated to Smithers with her parents and siblings in 1954. She spent much of her life working in her dad's bakery, as a teen and later as an adult when her children were older. She was a very active member of St Joseph's Parish and a long time member of the CWL.
Mary was a devoted wife to her husband, Pete, with whom she shared 52 years of unconditional love and unwavering support. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her children, embraced her role as a grandmother and great- grandmother and will be forever remembered as a pillar of strength and a constant source of love for her family.
Mary will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts. Though she may no longer be physically here, her spirit and the impact she made on our lives will continue to guide us.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mary will be held on November 17, 2023 at 11:30 at St. Joseph's Parish. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring her memory and sharing stories of how she touched their lives.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may we honor her memory by living each day with the same love and kindness she demonstrated daily.
