Mary Ellis (Drogus) Hanna was a kind, supportive and generous woman who sang an aria like a songbird and had faith as deep as the ocean. She left us on Saturday, February 16, surprising us with a swift and peaceful exit from her earthly body.

Mary was a known vocalist in her home town where she achieved her teaching degree at Geneva College. Mary raised a family of seven children and her gifts for teaching, listening and ministering further developed over the many years with Toastmasters where she became an avid storyteller. Her willingness to travel to far reaching communities affected many lives. She was best known as a teacher in Bella Coola and Edmonton; devoted pastor's wife in New Hazleton, and mentor to many in Quesnel and Terrace in her most recent years. She will be deeply missed, especially by Henry, her love of 68 years.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Mary Drogus, sister Betty Lou Blount, brother Earl, sister-in-law Amelia Drogus, grandson Isaac Hanna, son-in-law Bill Luck and many beloved friends.

She is survived by her loving husband Henry Hanna and daughters Kizia Hana aka Mary Lynn, Ruth (Algy) McRae, Esther (Rob) Fullen, and Deborah (Paul) Seburn, and her sons John (Teresa) Hanna, Paul (Lisa) Hanna, and David (Isabelle) Hanna; her brother-in-law Thomas Blount and nieces Valerie (Bob) Roach and Carol Ann (Steve) Orvis and their children; and former son and daughters-in-law Bart Gurr, Brenda Saugstad (Christopher) Cordts with Tania, and Carolyn Bertin.

Her beloved surviving grandchildren are Jennifer (Dan) Caccavano with Hanna; Joseph (Laurie) McRae with Eliza; James Fullen; Michael (Amanda) Hanna with Harvey; Matthew (Melinda) Hanna; Heather Hanna (Cole Tuton); April Seburn (Jamie Czerwinski); Rachel Seburn (Chris Merrell); Sarah Seburn; Jonathan Hanna (Courtney Costain); Michelle (Elijah) Swedlow; Thomas (Jessica) Hanna; Luke Seburn; Jenna Hanna; Isaac Hanna; Selah Hanna; Jesse Hanna; and Cindy (Rob) Stocker with Devon and Zoeˆ.
