MARY CAMERON GARNER
August 27, 1921
November 3, 2004
Mom was born in Yorkton, Sask.
and raised in Cardale, Man. She
moved to Prince Rupert once she
was done her schooling. It was here
she met her husband Len. Mom
worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling
Co. in the bottling plant. They were
married in 1945 in Cardale and
returned to Prince Rupert where
they remained until 1952 when
they moved to Smithers.
In Smithers she worked alongside
Len as the Coca-Cola distributor
from Hazelton to Burns Lake.
Mom was the loader/unloader,
sorter and bookkeeper while Len
shared the loading/unloading and
did the driving as well as working
for the CNR. After they left the
Coca-Cola business, mom worked
for the Eastman•s at the Hilltop
Hotel and later for the Bruintjes•
at the Bulkley Cleaners until her
retirement.
Mom truly loved being at their
cabin on Babine Lake as well as
camping and •shing in the local
lakes. Her greatest loves were her
grandchildren and animals. She was
never without a dog of her own.
Mom had Parkinson•s disease for
many years but with dad•s help was
able to stay at home until a year
and a half ago when she moved to
the Bulkley Lodge. Mom passed
away peacefully at the Lodge on
November 3rd.
Mary was pre-deceased by her
parents Thomas & Rose Ramsay
and her only sister Ruth Ramsay.
She leaves to mourn: her loving and
devoted husband Len, her children
Bill (Dorothy) Garner and Sandy
(Doug) Morris, her grandchildren
Rick (Liz) Garner, Tara (Brian)
Caffelle, Brent (Kylie) Morris
and Julie Morris, and her greatgrandson
Jack Garner.
She will be missed but never
forgotten.
