Mark John White

Mark was born on July 8, 1913 in Shute, Devonshire, England. He emigrated to Smithers, B.C., Canada in December 1984 to reside with his family. On October 27, 2008, he passed away peacefully at the Bulkley Lodge, Smithers, where he had happily resided since February 2008.

Mark is survived by his loving family. Daughter Andrea (Gordon) Arnold and grandsons Matt and Mark Arnold. Brothers-in-law Boyce (Delores) Carter, Kamloops, B.C.; Bernard (Pat) Carter, Yate, England; Barrie (Bonnie) Carter, Smithers, B.C.

He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and other family members residing in both Canada and England. Mark was predeceased by his loving wife Beryl in 1976, Yate, England; parents, Victor and Helena; brothers and sisters, Victor, Mary and Daisy.

Memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 63, Smithers, B.C. will be gratefully accepted.

“Miss me a little, but not for long, go on with your life, laugh and be strong. Don’t dwell on my passing with sorrow and tears. Be happy!”

A funeral service for Mark was held in the Smithers Legion October 31 at 2:00 pm with Pastor George Richmond officiating. Interment was in the Smithers Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the R.A. Schrader Funeral Home, Smithers, B.C. 250-847-2441
