Marguerite Helen Perry passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on November 8, 2010. Marguerite was born in Armstrong July 31st, 1924, the daughter of Reginald Perry and Catherine Perry (nee Macdaonnell) from Lumby, BC. The family moved to Salmon Arm in 1930, where she lived until she graduated from secondary school. After nurses’ training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Victoria she nursed in several hospitals and later became a public health nurse, working throughout BC. Marguerite traveled most of the world and lived for a short time in Scotland where she took further training in midwifery. Her next move was to Australia where she practiced her new skills. Returning to BC in the 1970s, Marg settled in Smithers where she working in nursing, law and real estate until 2005.While in Smithers, she became very close with her northern nephews and their families. There she earned her pilots’ license and flew herself to remote placed in the north. Marg spent the last five years in Salmon Arm under the watchful eyes of her sister Noreen MacDonald and her brothers Sandy, Doug, Bud and John as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
