Margaret Eileen Stacey

known as Marg to her friends.

Passed away of natural causes on Sept. 18, 2009

at Prince George hospital.

Marg was born March 17, 1938, the third daughter of Hilda and Stan Gould of Smithers, B.C. Marg took her schooling in Smithers. She later worked for her father at Gould’s Family Clothing, BC Telephone as an operator, and then later in life she managed Smithers Jewellers.

She married her childhood sweetheart Garry Stacey on May 1, 1957, and together they raised four children – Debbie, Glen, Garry, Leeann – and grandchild Michael, all of Smithers.

Marg loved fishing and camping, her garden and flowers, and took great pride in her family, home and cooking. She was known for putting everyone and everything before herself. She had many friends, a few of them close ones, but she cherished all to the end.

She was predeceased by the death of their daughters Debbie in 1973 and Leeann in 1998, and by her parents – Dad in 1960, Mother in 1974 and Stepfather in 1986.

Marg leaves to mourn her beloved husband Garry, her sons Glen (Leslie) and Garry (Kris), son-in-law Gary Corbett, and grandchildren Michael, Travis, Cody, Danielle, Kyle, Ashley, Alissa and Kirsten. Also sister Marlene (Harry) Goodwin of Kamloops, brother-in-law Doug (Dorthy) Stacey of Edmonton, as well as Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation, or the purchase of Red Maple trees for the Smithers Cemetery.

Service will be held at St. Joseph’s Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. Viewing at R.A. Schrader’s Funeral Home Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 6-9 p.m.
