Lucy Stam

August 28, 1956 - February 6, 2019
Our Lucy. On Wednesday, February 6th our hearts broke as we said goodbye to our wife, mom, nana, sister, and auntie - the heartbeat of our family. The third of nine children, Lucy came into the world in Smithers on August 28, 1956 and changed it by adding her unparalleled generosity, energy, and compassion to every relationship and experience. Lucy was blessed with an indescribable ability to make everyone feel thought of, valued, and remembered for exactly who they are, always acknowledging the smallest detail or providing that extra ounce of care. Every fibre of who she was is defined by love, and this was especially evident as she became Nana to Weston, Brody, Evie, Anika, Lucy, Hadley, Heidi, Molly, Ryah, Tucker, and two babies who are on their way.
When Jack first noticed Lucy at a dance at the Elks Hall in 1971, little did he know that they'd marry and their life would include Adrian, Jessica, Katie, Marli, Nathan, and Jayme; her kids meant everything to her. With them came sons in law she adored - Mark, Daniel, and Jakob and precious daughters in law - Charlotte and Ashley.
Lucy's love for Jesus was deep and waiting with open arms for her in heaven are her parents - Elisabeth and Karl, one of her favourite brothers in law - Dave, and her dear nephew Brant.
While we can't quite envision life without her, the example she set will continue to guide us in oh so many ways.
