Lucia Maria Pacheco Jackson was born in the Azores, in a small farm town. She came over to Canada in 1988 with her family at the age of 13.
At the age of 39, Lucia started a long battle with cancer, and through all options for treatment, she was a rock; strong and positive along with the support of her husband, kids, family, and long-standing friend Tracy Bree.
Her daughter Lilliana was by her side providing care in her last days and throughout her journey. Her husband, Kenny and mother Maria, were her supports while her son Ethan was her teddy bear to hug and to hold.
Thank you for the flowers from the tenant at the Meadows, the weekly pizza from Chatters, the support of the loving Cancer Care nurses, and the unending availability of Dr. Leighton, both day and night throughout the years.
Lucia died peacefully in her own home on December 14, 2017 surrounded by her family, and with a smile on her face. She is now with her father, Victorino, in heaven.
Lucia loved camping and the outdoors; she was a hard worker both at work and at home and a great friend, wife, daughter, and mother.
We ask for each individual to continue to pass on her example of strength and courage.
