Lillie May Doney (nee Aylwin). Born Aug. 26, 1912 in New Denver, B.C. Passed away at Wrinch Memorial Hospital Aug. 19, 2010 with her eldest daughter, Judy Luxton, holding her hand. She is survived by daughter Karen (Fred) Lancaster, grandson Paul Lancaster (Sharon), great grandchildren Ava, Lila, grandson Barry Lancaster (Andrea), great grandchildren Brodie and Noah. Also survived by son-in-law Terry Luxton, sister Ruth Teir, four nieces and one nephew.
Predeceased by Ernest (died March 1988) loving husband of 50 years, parents Charles and Elizabeth Ann Aylwin, siblings Clara, Nellie, Ed, Arthur, Willa, Peter, Stanley and nephew Dennis.
Lillie May was a kind, generous, compassionate soul, a one-of-a-kind, truly elegant lady. She will be sadly missed.
A memorial tea will be held at her apartment in Sidney, B.C. in Oct. 2010.
Many of her family members are buried in the New Denver, B.C. Cemetery. Her ashes will be buried there in the summer of 2011 beside her husband in the Masonic plot.
