In Loving Memory ~
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kathy Dawn Frank at the age of 46 years. She is survived by her partner Dayton Lynk; daughter Tamia Frank; parents Larry and Sharon Frank; Aunts, Uncles cousins and good friends.
Kathy was born in Edmonton and raised in Smithers where she attended school and learned the love of music and singing. She loved to sing and could be heard singing as she walked on her way to school.
Kathy moved around from place to place but loved living in Vancouver and being able to sing "The Blues" with many musicians in many different venues. Calgary was her final city where Kathy lived and where her health struggles really came to light. She was unable to continue singing and it absolutely broke her heart and soul. She was working very hard to get back to her singing again the past few months.
Kathy's happiest day was the day her daughter Tamia (Bluesbaby) was born. Another happy event was getting to meet and sing for B.B. King. Kathy created the "Blues Through The Ages" concert in Vancouver, singing songs through the decades with wonderful music and video backup. Kathy was involved with the Highway of Tears and she organized a Ramona Wilson Music Festival in Smithers with local and out-of-town musicians.
Kathy's talent included crafts of all sorts and the latest being beading. She was very generous and happy to help anyone and gave her time freely.
Her beautiful voice, her smile, her laugh and her bubbly personality will be missed.
There will be no service.
Always loved, never forgotten.
