Kathleen (Kitty) Morris

January 20, 1918 - October 12, 2010

Kitty Morris passed away at Bulkley Lodge, Smithers, B.C., at the age of 92 years. She was born in Maryfield, SK, to George and Olive Storey. When she was three years of age they moved to the Smithers area and farmed in Evelyn where Kitty and her three brothers were raised. On November 23, 1940, she married Hilton Morris and in 1947 they moved to Telkwa where they raised their family of five children. In January of 1975 Hilton passed away. In 1980 Kitty moved to Smithers where she was an active member of the Smithers Seniors for many years, enjoying their Wednesday lunches and card playing and also met regularly with a group of friends for afternoons of playing Scrabble and visiting. Kitty is survived by her five children: sons Garry and Paul of Smithers; daughters Wendy (Don) MacDonald of Telkwa, Marjorie (Rick) Tombe of West Kelowna, and Jean (Ron) Powell of LaRonge, SK; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law Lena Storey of Kamloops; brother-in-law Mel Morris of Smithers and many nieces and nephews. Kitty was predeceased by her husband, Hilton, and her siblings Ed, Laurie (Isabelle) and Mac (Joy) Storey. A tea was held in memory of Kitty at the Pioneer Place Activity Centre in Smithers on October 16. The family would like to thank the staff of Bulkley Lodge, Dr. Kotze, and friends and relatives for all of their kindness and caring. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
