Lepage – Joseph (Fred) Alfred Antoine passed away Sept. 4, 2010 in the Bulkley Valley District Hospital following a long time medical ailment at the age of 69 years.

Fred was born on the farm in Saskatchewan near Debden on April 7, 1941 and moved to Smithers in 1957 with his mother and five siblings. Fred moved to Prince George where he married and had four children. Fred worked for BC Forestry as a carpenter foreman constructing many buildings, etc. He moved back to Smithers in 1986 working for Nechako Northcoast Bridge. Fred loved his family deeply, played guitar, had an awesome sense of humour, loved to eat, drink beer, smoke cigs and dance.

Fred is survived by his partner and soul mate of 24 years, Hazel, his daughters Julie (Marty) Woods of Prince George, B.C., Lynda (Paul) Rouleau of Leduc, Alberta, two sons Joe (Kathy) of Smithers and Jeff (Terra) of Raymond, Alberta. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, one brother, four sisters, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

A memorial service and celebration of Fred’s life was held in the Smithers Legion on Sept. 11, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Padre Doug Campbell officiating. Cremation was requested.
