Jo-Anne Zeiler (nee Henderson/Rebinsky)

May 15, 1952 – Oct. 4, 2009

After a long and remarkable battle with cancer, Jo-Anne was quietly released into the arms of our Lord with loved ones at her side. Her suffering is over and though she will be greatly missed, we rejoice in her finding the peace with her heavenly Father she so longed for; we look forward to seeing her again soon.

Jo-Anne was born and raised in the Kispiox Valley, the second of seven children to Betty and Buster Henderson. The Lord blessed Jo-Anne with a strength of character and a wonderful sense of humour that saw her through many difficult times. Always ready with a smile, she was a breath of fresh air to all those around her.

She was a gifted artist, who enjoyed painting, gardening, music, and even designed and built her own home.

Jo-Anne was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Wade, children, Tiffany (Dave) Dejong, Chris Lundstrom, Joshua Zeiler, and Jennifer Zeiler, mother, Betty Henderson of Telkwa, sisters, Heather (Ben) Sikkes of Smithers, Lani (Mark) Robertson of Australia, Shelley (Norm) Schwartz of Prince George, and Pam (Don) McClenagan of Telkwa, brothers, Duncan (Connie) Henderson of Kispiox, and Rob (Debbie) Henderson of New Hazelton and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A heartfelt thank you to all those who supported and helped care for Jo-Anne over the years. Thank you to all the staff at the Bulkley Lodge and to Dr. Marlowe Haskins for your dedication and compassion.

A memorial service will be held in Jo-Anne’s honour at Mountain View Assembly Church, Highway 16, Smithers, on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 3:00 p.m. Tea to follow downstairs. Please bring anything that you would like to share.
